IntroductionAs part of a recent strategic development process Greenhill revisited its mission statement to describe our current purpose as: “Greenhill YMCA provides high quality local, national and international programmes in outdoor/environmental education, personal development and community relations in a safe and caring atmosphere, based around a Christian ethos” Strategic GoalsBetween 2003 and 2006 Greenhill YMCA will:
MethodologyGreenhill YMCA is currently working towards becoming an autonomous association in 2004.This process is bringing the Centre closer to the local community whilst still allowing it to provide support to groups throughout the island. There will be greater integration of, outdoor activities, youthwork, CR, and Christian ethos
ResourcesThe human resources strategy is key to the above to implementing the above aims. It is anticipated Greenhill will recruit (either employ or long-term volunteers) a, Pastor/Mentor, Volunteer Support Worker and Community Relations Development Worker. Major site development is also anticipated. Ongoing costs will be funded by YCNI and income from user groups. Project and capital sources will include, IFI Community Bridges, DENI, Mourne Heritage Trust, InvestNI Tourism and various trusts.
