Ballincollig
Ballincollig YMCA is located in Innishmore
Industrial Estate, at the side of Innishmore Estate. It is the regional
headquarters of the YMCA Ireland and has hosted STEP programmes
for many years. There is a designated STEP training room with a
suite of 10 Personal Computers, all of which have access to Broadband
Internet connections as well as a kitchen, activity space and recreation
area.
The co-ordinator for the programme is James Bilson who delivers
Communications, World of Work and ECDL training. Programmes run
in Ballincollig once a year usually commencing in August.

Concepts of Information Technology, Using Computers & Managing Files,
Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Databases, Presentations, Internet and

Jobsearch skills. Special interest subjects sometimes covered depending on
interest.

Objectives

STEP
enables young people to participate creatively in identifying, owning
& realising their goals in learning to gain employment or go on to
further education. Four weeks are spent on work experience with local
employers.
