YMCA is an all-Ireland charitable, faith based organisation. Today there are YMCAs in more than 120 countries around the world serving more than 30 million people. YMCA Ireland was created in 1981 by local YMCAs and today there are 22 local YMCAs across Ireland. YMCA Ireland supports local YMCAs to fulfil their aims and purposes within their communities. We also promote partnership within the movement and good practice standards, in supporting local YMCAs to achieve and maintain quality. YMCA Ireland is funded by government sources, other trusts and other fundraising activities. YMCA Ireland’s workYMCA Ireland is a cross denominational organisation committed to actively responding to local youth and community need. As all communities have different needs, all local YMCAs whilst having the same foundations, will be unique in how they respond to the need in their community.
