After six months of hard work, graduates from Bantry YMCA’s “Info STEP 2003” were awarded their well-earned certificates by Councillor Donal Casey at the Bantry STEP graduation on Friday 12 December 2003. More... | YNet began in 2003 as a meeting place for young people aged between 12 and 18 who want to relax, play and develop new skills in a “cyber café” environment. | Outreach
work is a key component of the work done by Bantry YMCA’s Youth
Information Service.
Under the auspices of the West Cork Youth Information Service,
staff attempt to develop new ways of ensuring that young people in rural
communities have access to the same level of services as their urban
counterparts.

Bantry
YMCA is a local community based, faith and volunteer led organisation,
which brings together Christians from different traditions. Our
vision is to serve the identified needs of young people especially those
at risk of social exclusion. Our
work seeks to enable them to realise their God-given potential, in a
supportive and caring Christian environment.

Bantry YMCA
was set up in 1991 as a result of needs identified by the local churches
and other community based organisations.
As part of the YMCA movement it is committed to developing responses to identified needs within the local community. In 2000 Bantry YMCA with financial support of BIDG commissioned a study of young peoples needs in Bantry More.... |
