Post Ballincollig Support, Training and Enterprise Programme (STEP) Part-time Co-ordinator.
Description The YMCA Support Training and Enterprise Programme (STEP) is typically a 23 week pre-vocational training programme. However, it is proposed to offer a different delivery mechanism for this programme at Ballincollig YMCA and operate annually, on a part-time basis, Monday to Friday 9.30am to 1.00pm.

STEP is a ‘Second Chance’ programme, targeting early school leavers in the 17-25 age group. It seeks to raise motivation and to build the self-esteem of young people through developing a number of generic or core skills such as communications and personal effectiveness.  It also seeks to introduce participants to the world of Information and Communications Technology. A distinctive methodology based around youth work techniques attempts to involve the young people as active participants in the learning process.  STEP is actively involved in the process of seeking certification for participants through FETAC/ NCVA and trains and tests them to acquire the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL). STEP is also currently developing partnerships with local employers within Co. Cork area where participants can gain quality work placements.

The STEP Co-ordinator is responsible for the co-ordination, delivery of certain modules, administration of the programme. S/he will also be responsible for the supervision of any specialist tutors.
Salary YMCA Scale B1-4 at the pro-rata rate for 20 hours (€19,686 - €21,769)
